A native of Ohio, I’m in New York finishing a Master’s degree at New York University and pursuing a career in journalism as a writer and photographer. My talents in discussing, writing and editing – tenants of my undergraduate English Literature studies – have been polished by my recent work experiences. Both reporting and retail have taught me to interact with all types of people in a professional manner, using humor and intelligence.
No matter the job, I not only do it but seek to improve the work environment in some way. I work as well in an office, as I do on the street as a reporter. And I take the work that I do very seriously, especially when it involves issues that I am passionate about — art, human rights, education and the freedom of information.
I have been a writer as long as I can remember. More recently, I have fallen in love with photography’s capacity to capture what words cannot best describe. And in journalism, I appreciate their combined ability to tell a compelling story.
